COVID-19 PANDEMIC POUNDING ON CHILDREN’S EDUCATION IN NIGERIA

Covid-19 pandemic pounding on children’s education in Nigeria. Children are the most beautiful creation of the human race. Even the wisest teacher of all; Jesus Christ, encouraged all to give them first preference as they are good models for inheriting the Eternal Kingdom.

Everyone is aware of this fact and should also appreciate the fact that it is our responsibility to make sure that underprivileged children get the best, no matter how difficult the circumstances are. Just like every unforeseen event, the current terrorist- Covid-19 Pandemic is carelessly pounding away the bricks that made up the wall and has a current heavy hit on the education of poor children of Nigeria.

Since late February 2020, when all schools were forced to close till date, one might wonder what life has been for these less privileged children who are currently experiencing for the first time the longest school holiday of their lives. Many of them are idle with not much to do. Many more are exposed to the streets for abuse and all manner of molestation.

What happens to their little academic minds which remain without a teacher’s instructions for months now?

One would wonder. If you too sometimes wonder about this, then it’s a good indication that these less privileged children need to be helped. So what can be done? Pick up that child in the neighbourhood and teach him, teach her, sponsor their home lessons, give support to others whose joy is in encouraging children’s education. We must not turn a blind eye to poor school-aged children of Nigeria.

How to donate give scholarship to youth

So how then will these less privileged children survive the attack which Covid-19 Pandemic poses on their education in Nigeria?
