Promoting education, safety, and social support for children.
Nigeria is among the top five nations in the world of out-of-school children of primary and secondary school age. Even more, 34% of children drop out of school before upper-primary school. Due to a lack of access, affordability, and awareness, children in rural areas are unable to receive the education to escape poverty. Helpers Social Development Foundation is going the mile to fulfill our mission as a charity and opening a nursery and primary school! This project is meant to benefit families that live in the remote area of Oji River. The locality doesn’t have piped water or electricity, so families don’t usually prioritize education. However, we at HSDF know that in every underprivileged child there lies the potential to finally break the cycle of poverty.

This is why we want to create this opportunity; not only will be providing them with a school but we’re going to take care to support holistic success in each and every child who walks through our doors. By fostering critical thinking, emotional skills and healthy habits so that they can give back to their community in a new way.

Scope Of The Project:
To be able to provide annual education for 200 children in Oji River Local Government area of Nigeria. Children presently have no access to back education, social support and mentoring.
Total population: 126,587, Literacy rate: 6%.
School opening date: 10th January 2022.
Helpers Foundation Free School Project:
We are calling it a Free School project for two reasons: First, families do not pay anything for it. They contribute to the learning of their children in other ways. Secondly, the Helpers Foundation is free for the learner and aims to build a sense and practice of freedom and social justice.
Use of Funds
All the proceeds will go to
Curriculum development:
1. Purchasing teaching Aid = $550
2. Purchasing of teacher office supplies = $200
3. Purchasing of Books = $830
4. Purchasing of Classroom desk & chairs = $950
Students Materials Supplies:
1. Purchasing of uniforms for 200 pupils. (2 pieces per pupil.) = $2,132.
2. Purchasing of Shoe for 200 pupils (2 pieces per pupil) = $987.
3. Purchasing of schoolbags for 200 pupils. = $1763.
Teachers Salary for one year:
1. Three teachers = $3,495.
Incorporation of Helpers Foundation School :
1. Incorporation & school registration with state government = $400.
Renting of a hall for school premises & utilities:
1. Annual rent & agency fee = 1092.
2. Water facility = $420.
3. Electricity and utility bills = $635.
Total Annual budget: $13,454
